Lily Gladstone and Kiowa Gordon are reuniting on the frontier, trading the trippy West of Quantum Cowboys for one soaked in supernatural dread.

The two actors are attached to star in The Curse of Silver, a supernatural horror-western set along the Texas-Mexico border just after the Civil War. The story follows two Union deserters who unleash supernatural violence after dragging a cursed chest of Confederate silver into a besieged town.

For Gordon, the project is a step behind the camera and in front of it. Best known as Embry Call in The Twilight Saga and Jim Chee in AMC’s Dark Winds, he will co-direct with Geoff Marslett, who wrote the script with Rafael A. Ruiz. Gordon recently wrapped the fifth season of Dark Winds.

Gladstone, an Oscar nominee for Killers of the Flower Moon, is no stranger to westerns, but this is a turn into horror. She next appears opposite Michael B. Jordan in The Thomas Crown Affair, due in March 2027.

Both stars have a stake beyond their performances: Gladstone and Gordon serve as executive producers alongside Michael Mortensen, with Liz Cardenas and Ram Getz producing. The film also reunites them with Marslett, who previously directed them in the animated western Quantum Cowboys.

Fans should expect a wait. The project was one of 80 selected for this year’s Gotham Week Project Market in Brooklyn, where it was presented to industry buyers during development. Gladstone and Gordon are the only announced cast members; their roles remain unrevealed, and no start date has been set.
