Quannah ChasingHorse will be honored at the Hollywood Climate Summit for her work elevating Indigenous perspectives on environmental and climate justice.

The Han Gwich’in and Sicangu/Oglala Lakota advocate will receive the Amplifier Award during the summit’s inaugural Leadership Recognition Ceremony on June 3 at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. The award recognizes cultural leaders who use their public platforms to inspire action and advance climate action and environmental justice for the next generation.

For ChasingHorse, the recognition reflects years of using fashion, film, and public advocacy to bring greater visibility to Indigenous voices and the ongoing work of protecting land, water, and future generations.

Raised with deep ties to her homelands in Alaska and South Dakota, ChasingHorse is a fourth-generation land protector whose advocacy stems from the traditions and responsibilities passed down through her family and communities. Throughout her career, she has spoken about the importance of protecting Indigenous lands and waters, as well as the connection between environmental stewardship and Indigenous ways of life.

ChasingHorse gained widespread recognition through a Calvin Klein campaign in 2020. Since then, she has become one of the most recognizable faces in fashion, appearing on the covers of Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar while collaborating with major international brands. Her work has expanded into film and television, including roles in Reservation Dogs and Thin Places.

In addition to her modeling and acting, ChasingHorse has used her visibility to raise awareness of issues affecting Indigenous communities. Her award-winning short film Walking Two Worlds, available through The North Face, explores identity, culture, and her commitment to protecting the lands that shaped her.

Three other leaders will also be honored during the ceremony. Author and climate strategist Dr. Ayana Elizabeth Johnson will receive the Compass Award. Meredith Shea of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be recognized with the Institutional Leader Award, while Universal Entertainment’s GreenerLight Program will receive the Industry Catalyst Award.

The Leadership Recognition Ceremony will kick off the seventh annual Hollywood Climate Summit. The two-day event brings together entertainment and media professionals, storytellers, executives, artists, scientists, advocates, and cultural leaders for discussions, workshops, networking opportunities, and collaborative programming designed to strengthen climate literacy and expand how climate issues are represented across film, television, media, and popular culture.
