Indigenous Business Group (IBG) celebrated the entrepreneurs, Tribal enterprises, innovators and community leaders helping shape the future of Indigenous business at the 2026 Indigenous Business Awards, held Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee.
The awards concluded the fifth annual Indigenous Biz Con, a three-day gathering held Oct. 11–13 under the theme “Indigenous Renaissance: Cultivating Generational Wellness, Wealth & Opportunity.” The conference brought together Tribal leaders, Native-owned businesses, corporate partners, investors and economic development professionals to strengthen Indigenous economies through collaboration, innovation and opportunity.
Hosted by comedian and actress Jana Schmieding, with music and entertainment from DJ Element, the Indigenous Business Awards Gala recognized 10 individuals, businesses, organizations and projects advancing Indigenous economic development, entrepreneurship, cultural storytelling and community impact.
“The fifth annual Indigenous Biz Con was a powerful example of the Indigenous Renaissance in action, bringing together leaders across industries who are building a stronger future for Indian Country,” said Rob Pero, Indigenous Business Group Co-founder. “Tribal Nations aren’t just participating in new industries; they’re leading, building sustainable enterprises and creating opportunities for generations to come.”
